Useful Information

 

Money:

In most of the places in Malapscua you can pay only with cash. In Ocean Vida and Sea Explorers we do accept all major credit cards without extra charges.

Ocean Vida is the only licensed money-changer on the entire Malapascua Island. If you would like to exchange currency from any country, we will be happy to do that for you in the reception between 6 am – 11 pm.

There is no ATM on Malapascua as of the moment.

 

Massage service:

Ocean Vida is offering own massage service with different organic oils. You can enjoy your massage in your room or right on the beach with a comfortable massage table.

 

Water sports:

We do offer stand up pedaling and kayaks rentals per hour or per day.

 

Electric:

We offer 24 hours electric service and European plugs with 220 Volts.

 

Boat ride:

You have two options to go back to Maya.
A) You can hire a private boat at the reception and you will be picked up right in front of the resort.

Cost: 2000 Php incl. luggage handling.

B) Or you can take a public boat from the village of Logon. Public boat services run from 6am – 2pm.
Cost: 80,- Php per person not incl. luggage handling.

 

Sari Sari Stores:

These are the only places on Malapascua where you can buy some goods. They normally have most things you need for daily living,  snacks, candy and toiletries. We recommend the DayDay Souvenir Store as he has the largest selection on the island.
Opening hours: 6 am – 9 pm.

 

Cebu Mactan:

It is the second international airport in the Philippines and you can reach a lot of different international destinations directly from here. Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok just to mention a few. Domestic destinations like Dumaguete (Negros), Coren (Busuanga), Tagbilaran (Bohol), Puerto Princesa (Palawan), Boracay and Manila can all be reached by daily flights from Cebu airport. Please check Cebu Pacific, Zest Air or Philippine Airline for the flight to your dream destination.

Airport Tax: An airport tax of 550,- Php needs to be paid cash for every international departure.

 

Visa:

You will get a 30 day valid visa upon entering the Philippines. Extensions are available after if you want  to stay longer.

 

Health:

There is no need of special vaccinations for the Philippines. Most of the time there is no available doctor on Malapascua and you would have to go to Cebu City for serious medical treatments. We do have a first aid box and Oxygen in the dive center/ reception for first aid treatments.
